ARGOS Bar | Bistro

ARGOS Bar | Bistro brings the bold flavors of the northern Mediterranean to St. Albert, where rustic charm meets modern elegance in a warm, earthy setting.

The clay figure project began with the idea of capturing the human form through repetition, variation, and touch. Over 900 figures were hand-sculpted, no two alike, yet together they create a unified whole. On a large scale, the installation becomes more than individual pieces, it transforms into a landscape of humanity, a collective portrait. Every detail—size, weight, tonal value, and color palette was meticulously considered to complement the design of the interior space.

Installed on the former site of Hole’s Greenhouses and Gardens, this large-scale clay figure project honors the legacy of Lois Hole. Hundreds of hand-formed figures evoke the act of gathering people coming together, sharing moments, and building community.

The vision behind the project is to explore presence, vulnerability, and connection. Clay, with its raw and elemental nature, carries the imprint of the maker and becomes a vessel for memory and identity. When multiplied into hundreds of figures, the work speaks to both individuality and community—how we stand alone and yet belong to something larger.
